Ask Olivia
I was told that freshmen in college couldn't do a sport, and I'm a cheerleader so I would like to cheer for my school. So I just basically want to know if it's true.

Dear Keiona,
Colleges encourage extracurricular activities for freshmen, for a variety of students. First of all, it's a great way to get to know other students, it's fun and social to be on a team or work for the school newspaper, and it's a good way to work off stress. So if the school of your choice offers cheerleading as a sport, then by all means join and enjoy!
